Fashion brand, STACEY STRAHAND, embodies a glamourous refinement of punk rock fashion design. Co-founders, Stacey Syiem and Mike Strahand, established their clothing brand in 2017 after moving to Yorkshire and wanting to pass on their legacy and passion to their daughter. Creative Director Stacey has always had an eagerness to get into the fashion industry; she felt compelled to learn how to make close which then allowed to design and create her own clothes as a young girl whilst studying.Inspired by the heritage of fabric making in Yorkshire, they place strong emphasis and value on using traditional techniques and sustainable English materials to ensure ethical practice really sets STACEY STRAHAND apart from the rest. The company felt that traditional skills, such as crocheting and weaving, are dying in western countries and so sought to revive the English artistry. STACEY STRAHAND is globally renowned for their London Fashion Week collections which draw on glam rock icons as well as couture styles, showcasing enhanced shoulder lines, tailoring and embellishment using crystals and metal. They recognised the skills of the local artisans in Yorkshire and endeavoured to contribute to their local economy and provide the luxury sector with couture designs, using traditional English materials, with a glam rock edge, inspired by their youth. The strong emphasis and value placed on using traditional techniques and sustainable English materials to ensure ethical practice really sets STACEY STRAHAND apart from the rest. Their fashion lines are designed with 80s and 90s rock fans in mind, who live and die rock but want more of a luxurious style, rather than band shirts. Materials such as mohair, cashmere, tweed and wool run through STACEY STRAHAND’S collections and allow the brand to add a luxurious edge to the glam punk rock style, appealing to those that appreciate English heritage.
